Family 1st of Texas Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1935 by the United States Post Office employees of the Railroad Postal Division, by coming together to pool their resources and provide low-cost loans to serve one another.
Over the years, our role in the community has greatly expanded, but our philosophy of "People Helping People" remains the same. As a not-for-profit cooperative, Family 1st of Texas Federal Credit Union still serves Texas postal employees and their families in more than 19 counties, as well as thousands of people who live, work, worship, or attend school in Downtown and Northeast Fort Worth. We are committed to offering quality financial products and services at low-costs - helping our member owners achieve their goals.
We’re a not-for-profit financial institution where our “people first” philosophy inspires us to get involved in the community and support worthwhile causes.
What does this mean? It means every member has a voice and a vote and we are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by our members.
We understand the importance of teaching financial literacy to members and the general public, therefore we offer resources to help better educate consumers.
Because we are not-for-profit, but for people, we are able to offer savings and value in the services you use every day.
Membership at Family 1st of Texas Federal Credit Union is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in the sections of Downtown and Northeast Fort Worth, Texas.
